JK Mara Camp is situated along the Muliban River in the Talek area. Set amongst picturesque hills and rolling plains in prime game-viewing country. You can step out of your tent and head out straight on a walking safari, or go by car and arrive 10 minutes later in the middle of the Masai Mara game reserve.

Accommodation: A tented camp is the original safari, perfectly suited to smaller groups looking for an authentic 'Out of Africa' experience Off the beaten track. Our beautiful, secluded site is situated to give you maximum privacy and exclusivity with comfort and style, where you might least expect it. You can relax on your private verandah, enjoying nature and letting the world go by.

The Camp is part owned and run by a group of Masai from the local community all trained in different camp ventures and have many years experience in hosting guests. They will make sure guests get an insight to the Masai people and their culture as well as providing a fantastic cuisine and the best service.

The camp has twelve tents divided in two. One side with 8 tents and the other with 4, both with there own dining room and lounge. For larger groups, the small dinning will act as a lounge.

The tents are well equipped (7 x 4 meters) and well furnished. All have en-suite bathrooms with flashing toilets and hot water shower. They can accommodate either 2 single, or 1 king sized bed, and if required an extra canvas cot bed for children or a third bed.
The camp has a fully stocked bar.

Electricity and power supply: The Camp is run on solar power. Each tent with its own system with the possibility to charge camera batteries in if you have a car charger for your camera.

Activities: Apart from game drives we arrange walking safari from The Camp either in the morning or afternoon on request. We do full day walks as well as a walking program over several days. See price list for more info. From the camp you can also do night game drives.
