Movie: Why not see some good movies before, or after, your visit.
We recommend following:
- Out of Africa. Made in 1985 and now a classic movie
with Meryl Streep as Karen Blixen and Robert Redford as the hunter
Denys Finch
Hatton. Denmark native Karen moving to Kenya to marry a swedish
baron (Bror Blixen). A loveless marriage leads to…
- Nowhere in Africa. Many jewish families moved from Germany just
before World War II and this german drama tells of one familys
struggle. The family flee to Nairobi and their marriage becomes
strained under difficult conditions. The end of World War II
forces the family to make difficult decision whether to return to Germany
or live in their new African home.
- The Ghost and the darkness. Based on a true story, this drama take
place in Kenya during the late 1890s and concerns two man-eating
lions, who killed 130 railroad construction workers in only
two months. A pair of courageous men set out to kill the lions in Tsavo.
- I dreamed of Africa. Based on memoirs of Kuki Gallman, she visit
Kenya in 1972 and settle a ranch on the Laikipia Plateau. The
Gallmans enjoyed a idyllic life when tragedy strike them.
- To walk with lions. Shows George Adamson´s fight to save
Kenya´s wildlife. Together with his assistant they battle
to keep the animals on his game reserve from dangerous pochers
who are determined to destroy rhinos and elefants for their
tusks and lions for their rich pelts.

Africa - by National Geographic. Africa is a 8 hour series showing
11 countries. Africa presents through the eyes of it´s people,
conveying the diversity and beuty of the land and the compelling
personal stories of the people who shape it´s future.
Africa offers a lot of experience and wisdom.
Here is some
Kenyan wisdom
"
Hurry hurry has no benefits". Meaning there is little merit
in doing things in a hurry.
"
Every bird flies with its own wings". Meaning every person
has what it takes to live their lives.
"
The one who waits for the whole animal to be seen, spears its tail".
Meaning if one is too cautions, one might lose out on an opportunity.
