Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara 6 days/5 nights Through the heart of the rift valley - “The cradle of Mankind” - to Masai Mara and it’s endless savannas with the richest population of mammals in Africa. It is the best of both worlds. Day 1 – Your driver - guide will pick you from the airport or town hotel. Drive down into the Great Rift Valley. The drive is fairly long but very scenic and you may stop to inspect the local markets and wood work kiosks if you wish. Arrive at the Mbweha Lodge on the Delemere Estate in time for lunch. Do a bird walk in the privately owned Congreve conservancy in the afternoon then return to the cottages for dinner and overnight. A night game drive is also possible here with a bit of luck you can spot the elusive Ardvaark and other nocturnal species. Day 2 – Spend a full day game driving in the Nakuru National Park. This park is famous for its millions of flamingos and other bird species, leopard & rhino. Return to the Mbweha Lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3 - Drive to the Masai Mara and JK’s Leleshwa tented camp, which will be your home during your stay in Masai Mara. Game drive after lunch and enjoy the wonderful wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the camp Day 4 - 5 For the next two days you will explore the Mara area extensively. You may do a nature walk in the areas outside the reserve itself, game drive in the reserve and on the conservation areas and group ranches that surround the reserve. Here you will also have the opportunity to visit local villages and local schools for a cultural immersion with this, probably the most famous of Kenya’s tribes. With the help of your driver/guide, you may set the pace to suit you. We suggest spending one full day with the Masai and then return again. Then spend the rest of the time game driving or doing walks as you wish. All meals and overnight at Leleshwa tented camp. With this itinerary you can add as many extra nights in the Masai Mara or Lake Nakuru as you wish. PRICE per person per day in US$:
